My Chats with Sara Bareilles, Karmin, and More…

As the Editor-in-Chief of The Berklee Groove, my college’s online newspaper/student voice, I get to do a lot of really cool stuff that I otherwise would never have the opportunity to do. One of my absolute favorite parts of my job is doing interviews. Occasionally, the people I interview just so happen to be my heroes, biggest musical inspirations, and/or favorite artists of all time.

Sometimes I’m still in denial that any of this has actually happened, and that I’m going wake up one day and everything will be back to a normal college student’s life. But the times when I allow myself to believe this is real life, I feel so incredibly blessed that this is my normal.

I wanted to share with you three of my favorite interviews that I published this summer. I hope you’ll enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

1. Sara Bareilles – It was one of my life goals to somehow talk to this amazing woman before I die. Needless to say, I cried tears of joy immediately after the interview was over.

2. Karmin – Berklee REPRESENT! Amy and Nick are just as sweet as they are talented, and they’re a huge inspiration.

3. Mike King – Author and Berkleemusic’s Director of Marketing whom I really look up to. He shared  some incredible insight with me regarding direct-to-fan marketing techniques, social media, and search engine optimization.

Bonus Question: If you could interview anyone in the world, who would it be?! Feel free to leave a reply in the comments below (now integrated with Facebook)!
