Giving Back
Lisa is a strong advocate for non-profit causes, particularly for children and music. Her songs tug at heartfelt emotions and evoke messages of inspiration, encouragement, and coping. Lisa has volunteered and performed for organizations including Save the Children, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Breast Cancer Awareness, World AIDS Day, Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic, Healing Hearts camp for children with disabilities, Senator’s Cabaret for Child Abuse, Stamford Symphony, Knights of Columbus, the Shelter for the Homeless, Stamford public schools music programs, Ferguson Library Children’s Summer Reading Program, North Stamford Exchange Club, Interact Community Service Club, the Volunteer Center of Southwestern Fairfield County, Stamford HS Carnival for a Cure, Stamford Citizen of the Year, senior citizen homes, church and school fundraisers, and others.
In response to the tsunami tragedy in Japan, Lisa donated her song, “The Pain Behind Your Eyes,” to be featured in a Berklee College of Music compilation titled Love Conquers All: Music for Japan. The digital album is available for immediate download for a donation of $10 or more, with 100% of the proceeds going to Save the Children’s relief efforts in Japan. The artists come from countries around the world, including the U.S., Spain, Scotland, England, Italy, Canada, Brazil, South Africa, Japan, Turkey, and Cyprus. The music reflects this diversity with a mix of genres such as pop, rock, jazz, hip-hop, experimental, bluegrass, electronic, folk, and more.
